GNA Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed Siyala met with the Russia’s leading officials in Moscow on Thursday, 4 May.Libyan MFA Mohammed Siyala and Nikolay Patrushev, Russia’s Security council secretary, have held talks on the issues regarding the bilateral cooperation and political settlement of the ongoing crisis in Libya, as well as the fight against terrorism.
Nikolay Patrushev has expressed during the meeting the condolences of Russia to Libya and the families of the victims in the ISIS-claimed suicide bomber attack on the head quarter of High National Elections Committee in Tripoli on May 2.
Mohammed Siyala has also met with the Russia’s Foreign minister deputy Mikhail Bogdanov.
According to a statement issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry, the two parts have discussed the recent developments in Libya, focusing on the need to activate the efforts under the auspices of the United Nations to settle the conflict in Libya as soon as possible.
Bogdanov confirmed Russia’s commitment to the territorial integrity of Libya and its support for a comprehensive and sustainable national dialogue in order to get the country out of a current crisis in coordination with representatives of various Libyan political forces.
